O death, where is your sting? (1 Corinthians 15:55)
Our Lord Jesus Christ has conquered sin and shattered the power of death. Through His Resurrection from the grave, He has revealed to us the way, and the narrow path that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:14). The empty tomb is not merely a sign of what has happened; it is a promise of what is to come and what shall be for all of us who follow the way of Christ.
We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song, as Pope John Paul II once proclaimed. In the light of the Resurrection, despair gives way to hope, and sorrow is transformed into joy.
No matter the trials we carry, let us lay them before the empty tomb. For there, we encounter not absence, but presence, Christ alive, victorious, and calling us forward. Today, we remember not only His Resurrection, but also the promise entrusted to us: “For if we have died with Him, we shall also live with Him” (2 Timothy 2:11). We too are destined to rise on the last day when the Master returns in glory (John 6:40).
So take heart, and do not be afraid. The Risen Lord speaks to us even now: “I am with you always, to the end of the age”(Matthew 28:20). This is our hope. This is our joy. This is the victory we celebrate in this holy season of Easter.
Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.
